The agents arrived before anyone wrote them down.
Three announcements from Tuesday, all about AI agents, none of them about making an agent smarter. Two vendors sold instruments for seeing and stopping the agents already running inside a company. A third sold more agents, through software its customers have already bought.

Your company data could be worth $100k–$3 million
There's a new channel of revenue that has just been unlocked for companies with over 20 people that have been around longer than a year.
Few know it, but AI labs now let you monetize your company’s operational data, and they're spending $15 billion this year on it to train the next frontier of LLMs. Your workflows, documentation, processes, and internal convos like Slack are extremely valuable and they're paying anywhere from $100k to $3 million for it per company.
Before you ask, all the data is anonymized and cleaned before it's sent to a Lab. Bezel (Y combinator backed) helps find a data partner that is the best fit for you.
1. CrowdStrike is paying for the thing that watches an agent
One announcement on Tuesday, three moves inside it:
- a planned acquisition of Fiddler AI, for AI agent observability
- an AI Kill Switch, with new AI security features in Falcon Guardian
- Falcon Guardian AI Detection and Response running natively inside Anthropic's Claude Cowork
The observability it is selling, it is paying somebody else for.
The week before, on 26 October, CrowdStrike and Dell announced integrated security for the Dell AI Factory with NVIDIA, and on 29 October the company told NBC News that China-linked attackers had used AI against 200 organisations. Its own engineers published a note on 28 October on how guardrails open up vulnerabilities.
I read the purchase as the real news, not the switch. A stop button is a procurement item: somebody signs for it, it gets a line in the renewal, and it changes nothing about what you can reconstruct afterwards. A record of what an agent touched is an architecture problem, and the biggest endpoint vendor in the world just decided it was faster to buy one than to build one. I would not sign for a control before I can produce yesterday's list of what ran.
2. Microsoft put thirty days of your agents on one screen
Microsoft's new Data Security Posture Management experience adds AI observability: one view of every AI app and agent active in the last thirty days, including the ones running on Microsoft Agent 365.
Thirty days is the window the screen covers.
The direction has been visible for two weeks. On 21 October Microsoft pointed something called Project Perception at the agents already inside, and the same day ServiceNow extended its AI Control Tower across Microsoft Foundry, Copilot Studio and Agent 365, which is a governance product reaching into somebody else's platform. On 2 November Syndigo announced a multi-year partnership with Microsoft building commerce on Foundry and Agent 365, so the next agents in that estate arrive through a partner contract.
What bothers me about this one is whose list it is. A tenant-scoped inventory is accurate and genuinely useful, and it also means the register of what your company automates lives inside a licence you renew every year, assembled by the vendor whose agents make up most of the rows. That is the ownership question dressed as a dashboard. The clause I want in writing is the export: the list, in a file I keep, on a schedule I set.

3. Salesforce bought the voice in the call centre
Salesforce signed a definitive agreement to acquire Cresta, described in the write-ups as a voice-first operating system for customer experience, and it goes into Service Cloud and Agentforce. The stock fell the same day, in a piece that also puts Fin, the AI customer-service provider, at $3.6 billion.
Cresta is the latest in a run. Braze went on 20 October at about $5.66 billion in enterprise value, $47.50 a share and a roughly 58% premium, and Braze's own stock closed up 51%. Everest Group read that deal on 26 October as buying the last mile of execution; MarTech, on 27 October, said it gave Salesforce more speed and more overlap.
My guess is the market was not reacting to the price. Every one of these purchases lands on the same bill, and the customer discovers the total at renewal, not at announcement, which is a cost control problem before it is a product problem. Overlap is the other half: when the voice layer, the messaging layer and the content layer all come from one vendor, the agent that talks to your customer sits in a stack nobody outside that vendor can audit end to end. I would ask for the renewal number before I look at the roadmap.

Reality CheckThe switch and the list
Two vendors sold control over AI agents on Tuesday, and they did not sell the same product. CrowdStrike named a feature the AI Kill Switch. Microsoft shipped a screen listing every AI app and agent that ran in a tenant over thirty days. One is a stop button, the other is a register. CrowdStrike also agreed to buy Fiddler AI, whose whole job is watching what an agent did, which tells you which of the two was harder to come by.
A stop button needs the name of the thing it stops.
Can you produce today the list of agents that ran in your company yesterday?
My call: by the end of February 2027, at least one company discloses an agent incident where the time went into finding the agent, not into stopping it.
If you can already produce yesterday's list of what ran in your own estate, hit reply and tell me.
