The Scoreboard · Ins7ghts Daily, Friday 30 October 2026
Six calls in seven days, and none of them moved. Nothing right, nothing wrong, nothing thrown out as unfalsifiable, six open. The one mark on the board is older: the July call further down, which came due this week and missed. On this board a call stays open until an event with a date after the call settles it, so an honest week with far horizons looks exactly like a lazy one.
Why nothing settled. Five of the six run to the end of Q1 2027 or beyond: a benchmark named inside an enterprise contract, a capacity announcement slipping over a power connection, a bank buying an AI company outright for its data, a licence fee named instead of a collaboration, a deal delayed over who publishes a test result. These are all checkable sentences, which is the hard part, but they are checkable in the spring. The sixth has a month left: on 25 October we said at least one US campaign would pull an AI-made advert over the public reaction rather than a legal complaint, before the end of November. The midterms are on 3 November. That one grades itself in four weeks and I expect it to come back wrong, because pulling an advert admits the reaction landed.
The miss worth printing. On 26 October the same call went out twice in one edition, which is one way to double your coverage. It is one call about an outside benchmark named inside a contract, printed in the teaser and again in the full piece with one word changed, and the board counts it once. The duplicate is not a grading problem, it is a writing one.
